Course Overview

The Fairways of Canton practice facility offers golfers the ability to practice on all areas of their game. Our practice green, located adjacent to our clubhouse, is equipped with multiple hole placements, varying in difficulty, as well as numerous chipping areas. Additionally, we have a second practice green for players looking to perfect their bunker play and improve their wedge shots. Aside from our practice greens, the Fairways of Canton’s state of the art driving range offers golfers a full layout of yardage targets, fairway-like hitting surfaces, and beautiful views that make improving your swing that much more fun!

The course layout at our facility is one of the highest quality. Fairways of Canton take players on a journey through 18 holes and 6500 yards of play. The course is a par 72, and it features some of the best views in the region. Be warned — this is not a course that can be overpowered.

Many fairways are generous and most greens are on the smaller side with numerous chipping areas to assist you if you miss a green or two during a round. Our greens are the only ultra dwarf Bermuda greens at any public golf course in the area. Correct placement on greens is pivotal to good scoring.

Hole 1 - Par 4

Handicap – Men: 3 Women: 3  |  445 – Black  |  405 – Blue  |  325 – Gray  |  275 – Green

The golfing experience at the Fairways of Canton begins with a straight away par-4. There’s room to miss with your tee shot, but you’ll want to avoid missing too far left, as you may find yourself in one of multiple fairway bunkers. The long and narrow green offers golfers two tiers to aim for on their approach. The bottom tier on the left side makes for an easier approach shot. However, the top tier on the right side is protected by two green side bunkers. The safe play is to land the left side of this green, no matter the pin placement!

Hole 2 - Par 3

Handicap – Men: 15 Women: 15  |  Black – 205 |  Blue – 185  |  Gray – 175  |  Green – 125

The first par-3 on the course comes in the form of a downhill shot into a large green. You’ll want to club down on the tee box due to the high elevation. Whatever you do, don’t miss left.

Hole 2 - Par 3

Handicap – Men: 15 Women: 15  |  Black – 205 |  Blue – 185  |  Gray – 175  |  Green – 125

This hole plays at least one club less due to elevation drop. Avoid missing left.

Hole 3 - Par 4

Handicap: Men: 3 Women: 3 |  Black – 445  |  Blue – 405  |  Gray – 325  |  Green – 275

Perhaps the most difficult hole at the Fairways of Canton, the par-4, hole 3 offers a challenge to even the finest of golfers. A down-hill tee shot to kick things off is key to scoring par on this hole. The water hazard comes into play at the 150-yard marker, so you’ll need to judge your tee shot accordingly. From there, you’ll need to hit an approach shot over the water onto a large green. There are bailout areas to both the left and right sides of this green.

Hole 3 - Par 4

Handicap: Men: 3 Women: 3 |  Black – 445  |  Blue – 405  |  Gray – 325  |  Green – 275

This is the first real challenge.  One of the longest Par 4 will test the even the finest golfers mettle.  Beware; the lake begins at the 150 marker, so judge your tee shot appropriately.  The lake also protects the green on your approach shot to this monster of a hole.  Never fear though, there are bail out areas left and beyond.

Hole 4 - Par 4

Handicap: Men: 5 Women: 5  |  Black – 420  |  Blue – 410  |  Gray – 400  |  Green – 360

The par-4 fourth hole comes in the form of a slight dog-leg, moving right. Avoid the fairway bunker at all cost.  Most players in the bunker will not be able to reach the green in regulation.  This leaves you with two options: The short cut to the right of the bunker, which overs a very narrow landing strip along side the cart path. Or playing your shot to the left of the bunker, which leaves a longer shot to the green. The latter would be considered the smart play.

Avoid the fairway bunker at all cost.  Most players in the bunker will not be able to reach the green in regulation.  Over the bunker is no good either; the smart play is to the left of the bunker, which leaves a longer shot to the green.

Hole 5 - Par 4

Handicap: Men: 13 Women: 13  |  Black – 300  |  Blue – 275  |  Gray – 240  |  Green – 215

This straightaway Par 4 plays slightly downhill off the tee.  A well-positioned tee shot will leave a short-middle iron to another small green which is also guarded by a deep hollow on the left side.
